Oldham by-election

November 14, 2010 9:38 AM

London Region has booked a coach to Oldham to help boost their campaigning for next weekend 20th/21st Nov and made arrangements for a weekend stay courtesy of friendly party members in Hazel Grove.

We'd like to fill the coach, which has two pickup points, Victoria and Swiss Cottage.

Please can you share this with your colleagues and email lists in your region? And promote it any other way you can think of?

Sometimes, you just have to hit the road!

London Liberal Democrats have organised a coach trip to Oldham for the weekend of 20th/21st November.

TEAM LONDON IS HITTING THE ROAD!

It's going to be a fun weekend of campaigning and what's more - accommodation is being provided by generous local members!

The expected by-election in Oldham East & Saddleworth is set against an unprecedented backdrop. An election court has ruled that the Labour campaign in May was so misleading that it actually broke the law. As we were only 103 votes behind last time, this is a very important opportunity - not just for candidate Elwyn Watkins but also for the Liberal Democrats nationally.

The impact of dozens of extra campaigners over that weekend will be significant - there will be delivering and canvassing to do.

You can book your return journey on our specially chartered coach to Oldham for just £25 here:

If you can't join us on our road trip, perhaps you could make a one-off donation of £25 to help us cover the costs of the trip? If so, you can do so here:

Here is the plan for the weekend:

Saturday 20th November 2010

Depart:

08.00 Wilton Road, Victoria, London

OR

08.20 Swiss Cottage Station, Finchley Road, London

We will drive to the campaign HQ on Chew Valley Road in Greenfield with a comfort break on the way. Once there, we will join in with the afternoon of campaigning. Then, in the evening, members in the surrounding area will collect us from the HQ and put us up for the night (we're also aiming to organise a group outing to eat pizza in the evening).

On the morning of Sunday 21st, we get a lift back to the Oldham HQ with our hosts for a day of campaigning and we depart for London again at 16.30 - expecting to arrive back in Victoria at about 21.30.

BOOK NOW TO SECURE YOUR PLACE AND LET THE OLDHAM TEAM KNOW THAT LONDON IS BACKING THEM!
