November 4, 2009 11:10 PM

Hastings & Rye Liberal Democrats have selected John Tunbridge to be their candidate in the forthcoming by-election in St Helens ward on 10 December. The selection meeting was held on Tuesday night at the Lib Dem Centre in London Road, St Leonards.

John lives with his young family in Parker Road and said of his selection:

"I am delighted to have been chosen, and I am looking forward to making sure that St Helens ward is well represented on the Council. I want to be a voice for the people."

Speaking after the selection meeting, Nick Perry, the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Hastings & Rye said,

"John is a high calibre candidate who has the get-up-and-go to be a wonderful councillor for the people of St Helens ward. Given the chaos of the current Conservative administration, we clearly need more Liberal Democrats on the Council. I look forward to seeing John make a big impact over the coming weeks and months."

John can be contacted by email at or by phone on 07746 480747.
